My Philosophy

I’m the founder of Coaching with Tommie, and my mission is simple: to help leaders, teams, and organizations live more authentically, lead more intentionally, and build lasting personal and professional success.

From the Plantation to Building a Foundation

I’m the ninth of twelve children, and I credit my big family for my love of people and my deep belief that everyone deserves a voice—and a chance to make their dreams real.

My father was a farmer, and my mother was a maid. I was raised on a plantation, and neither of my parents made it past the sixth grade. Yet together, they raised twelve children, purchased their own home, and helped seven of us attend college.

I graduated from Arkansas State University with a degree in Fine Arts and Drama. I love challenging people and shifting the energy in a room toward something better.

Today, family remains at the heart of who I am. I’m a proud wife, mother to one daughter, and grandmother to one beautiful grandbaby. They continue to inspire the work I do and remind me why building a meaningful legacy matters.

My life is proof that where you start doesn’t have to determine where you end up.

Even in moments of fear, frustration, or uncertainty, I help people find perspective and possibility—and then turn those insights into intentional action that creates meaningful, measurable results.

25+ Years Leading People

i’ve spent more than 25 years in leadership—inside a Fortune 500 financial services company and across the nonprofit sector as a senior operations and people leader.

I’ve led operations for teams of more than 1,000 employees and coached, mentored, and developed hundreds of leaders around the world. Along the way, I’ve championed initiatives that strengthened diversity and inclusion within organizations, helping leaders become more authentic, intentional, and results-driven versions of themselves.

From Corporate to a Calling

In 2014, I wrote a goal in my journal: become a executive and life coach focused on helping leaders at every stage—from emerging and established leaders to those leading without a title.

In 2019, I left the corporate world to bring that dream to life. Today, I’m living on purpose and serving with the passion I’ve always had—helping others build authentic, intentional relationships and achieve results that last.
